Xiyao Wang becomes the first VIXI postdoc

Xiyao Wang joined us at the beginning of 2022. He was awarded Mitacs Elevate Postdoctoral Fellowship to work on visualizing information in situ with 3D photorealistic environments in collaboration between VIXI at the University of Victoria and our partner LlamaZOO Inc. located downtown Victoria.

Xiyao is also joining to steer our team of graduate students working under the Mitacs Cluster with LlamaZOO Inc. (Jan Hombeck who graduated, Jimmy Lai, Ayush Jangida). Xiyao got his PhD in 2021 on Augmented Reality Environments for the Interactive Exploration of 3D Data from the Université Paris-Saclay under the supervision of Tobias Isenberg from the Aviz team of Inria Saclay and Mehdi Ammi from the University of Paris 8.
