I am a PhD student and at University of Alberta, with research interests in affect (emotions), learning and user-centred design. Currently, I am a visiting research student at VIXI, working with Dr. Sowmya Somanath on designing technologies to improve workplace happiness. I earned my MEng. at the Waseda University, with a focus on enhancing feelings of companionship in mixed-reality remote communication.

Outside of my academic work, I enjoy camping with family and friends, playing role-playing games, and indulging in baking.
